Ten cars and 10 trucks are in the running for honors as the 2013 Autoweek Best of the Best. Semifinalists will undergo further evaluation by our editors, who will judge the vehicles based on drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior, interior design and fun factor. Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling more than 465,000 vehicles in several popular models -- including the 2013 Ford Fusion sedan -- after discovering problems with fuel-delivery modules, engine-block heaters and missing steering-gear parts. A Ford spokeswoman said today that three different recalls for several of its best-selling cars were sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration last week.
Hyundai will debut its newest prototype, the Genesis Hurricane SC, at the SEMA show in Las Vegas next month. With the help of Magnuson Products, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International and Torvec Inc., Hyundai upped the output of its rear-wheel-drive coupe to 450 hp. The Hurricane SC (for supercharged) is the result of two years of development to enhance the power, traction, braking, exterior and interior design and the audio system.
